It's not that simple. The Parc Jean-Drapeau folks are grabbing for the PR upper hand by cancelling the fête, rather unnecessarily and prematurely. It's all part of the overdramatic way labour issues are played out here. The park employees' union hasn't had a contract in ages, and I think has a legitimate reason to be considering pressure tactics.
