To add to the list of buyouts, Dave Pinto, who worked in the newsroom as a clerk for thirty-nine years, and who started out when the newspaper was located at 1000 Ste. Antoine St. W., took early retirement at the end of 2007. Pinto's main functions were the sorting of incoming wirecopy, as well the distribution in the newsroom of competing newspapers, of mail and of faxes. Pinto will also be fondly remembered by many as the person responsible for placing newspaper and magazine clippings of interest in the mailboxes of many staff members.
