Nice photo of Hannah - yes she is in Montreal when she does these shows for local. Feel for the Maritime viewers though - see the plasma screen over Hannah’s shoulder - in the Maritimes it still says Global Quebec. One thing I really “like” is the delay between throws between sports and the anchor of the late show - it’s like talking to someone across the country - oh wait: the sports dudes are in Vancouver!!!

Hannah is in Montreal. The desk the anchors sit at is the only real thing on the set. And there’s no “Global Quebec” desk at the Ottawa bureau AFAIK.

I thought Jamie did Global National from Montreal also, but she actually was in Ottawa.

Global is a useless network. Too bad they are part of the same group that owns The Gazette. I remember during the shooting at Dawson, Global was nowhere to be seen. They ran a soap opera, while the rest of Montreal cared what was going on. They gave me all kinds of excuses when I called them on it. But every other “local” network was there.

this is common in europe, it’s efficient and communicates the same information… for the people who actually still watch the 6 o’clock news, it’s probably enough… it’s not like they are looking for some kind of sophisticated nuanced view of the world… for godsakes, they are watching Global…

Humm, have you watched the news on ABC 22? It’s shamlessely advertised as Fox 44. At first I thought my mind was playing tricks on me. And yes, It the same nes broadcast on the Fox station. It has the same generic feel, and I have to wonder why someone who’s in Burlington would care about some traffic accident in Massachussets?…
