		<description>Great post, Steve. I think the Chronicle Herald (certainly a major newspaper in this part of the world, especially since they pulled the plug on The Daily News) is also an independent paper owned by the Dennis family.</description>

		<description>For the immediate future sadly I see Matt Drudge as the future of journalism. A reporter that goes off on his own to break a couple of stories (probably an insider with some juicy stories to tell) and creates a cult of his own personality and, once with traction, devolves into gossip and populism and people move onto the next. I see a future much close to The Huffington Post than the NY Times. It&#039;s going to be a LOT harder to find news that&#039;s trustworthy.</description>
