Less than a year after shutting down one of only two newspapers in Halifax and replacing it with a Metro wire story printer, Transcontinental has determined that seven people in its newsroom is too much and has axed two of them, along with two people in advertising and marketing. (via J-Source)

To be honest, Halifax never struck me as being large enough to support two newspapers anyway.
