I'll pay anything to get rid of Benoit Brunet. I miss Yvon Pednault. Certainly made less mistakes when calling cames. Pierre Houde calls stuff so completely off base (to use the wrong pun) you wonder if he's watching the same game sometimes.

Both the Leafs and Raptors have their own cable channels too. But with RDS having rights to all 82 regular-season games and all playoff games, there's not much demand for a specialized channel yet.

That may change.

I'm almost surprised this hasn't already been done. After all, Gillett's team in England has its own TV station.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LFC_TV

I don't think it's the right direction, especially in terms of exclusivity rights to broadcast games; but then again, I didn't think it was right for RDS to get French-language exclusivity rights to broadcast games, either.

Pay-per-view kills sports. Only diehard fans go to crowded sports bars or pay $80 to their cable company to watch "their" sport. No new fans (and especially, no kids) are going to be attracted to a sport if they never see it on TV.

Example: can you name the current world heavyweight boxing champion? Me neither.
