i've always had a thing for the chocolate gelato at havre aux glaces. plus it's one of the few gelaterias or ice cream places open year-round. i think the biggest culture shock when i moved from calgary to montreal was finding out that ice cream shops are open seasonally. people in western canada have a thing for going for ice cream when it's freezing out (which is most of the year, to be fair).
