This little statement (MP3) by Canadiens analyst Bobby Dollas went unchallenged during a recent episode of the Tieman Show on CKGM. (You can download the full hour here.)
And they say jocks didn’t study in class…
UPDATE: Okay, okay, it’s a quote from Animal House, but what gets me is just how little reaction it gets. I mean, not even a chuckle?
ROFLMAO!
damn those Germans…
You mean the direct quote from National Lampoon’s Animal House?
Kids these days don’t remember the classics….
Wow, you’ve obviously never seen “Animal House.” You know, with John Belushi? It’s kind of a famous line, and is firmly placed in pop-culture vernacular.
It’s a quote from Animal House.
Don’t tell me you never saw “Animal House”?

I don’t see what the problem is. I watched Inglourious Basterds, from the great documentarian Quentin Tarantino. He was given great access to Adolf Hitler at the time and I am sure, if we dig through his archives, the Pearl Harbour attack was most probably left on the cutting room floor.
Howdy!
Apparently they were right…
To be fair, I’m pretty sure Bobby was quoting Bluto from National Lampoon’s Animal House.

The man was having a little fun, as he was quoting John Belushi’s character, Bluto, in Animal House.
Don’t feel bad, I’ve never managed to watch that movie all the way through despite several attempts. (took me 7 tries to see Casablanca…)
Perhaps Randy Tieman, who I believe is 57 or 58 years old, wasn’t familiar with the quote, and probably the side-kick with him on the show that day may have been too young to be familiar with the quote.
Randy Tieman & pop culture go together like Newt Gingrich & humility.
