Dear CBC,
I subscribe to your “media news” feed, because I have a keen interest in journalism and the media.
I do not, however, have any interest in Britney Spears or Michael Jackson. What do celebrity gossip stories have to do with the media, other than showing us that non-paparazzi outlets will stoop to this level too?
Please separate your celebrity gossip from your media-related stories.
Thank you.
that’s probably my biggest complaint about the CBC feeds. The “Top Stories” feed is also full of garbage. What’s the point of having 542 feeds if you spread the junk amongst all of them?
I emailed them to express similar sentiments a couple of months ago during a particularly fervent Britney-fest.
But then I noticed the BBC running the same stories, and I think the Ceeb is merely imitating the choices of the Beeb here, rather than shadowing any particular American outlet.
Not that that makes it any classier but it may almost sound like a rationalization of some kind.
I agree, except about Britney, I can’t get enough Britney news.
I second the motion by the gentleman from Fagstein.com. All in favour…
