Talking heads are for the most part a trailing societal indicator. Those positions tend to go to more senior people, in no small part in an attempt to add gravis and an air of authority to a discussion. So the racial mix tends to be about 30 to 40 years behind what is the norm for society.
You will also notice that for the most part, columnists and panel commentators tend to skew a little bit older. The male to female balance is getting a little better, in no small part because that battle was fought and won for the most part well more than 30 years ago.
It reminds me of this old saying “Do as I said, not as I do” as well as this older photo of the editorial staff of the Huffington Post who had been turned into a meme since. https://imgur.com/a/9pCmjvU
